28 Years Later: The Bone Temple pushes the iconic Rage Virus saga into darker and more ambitious territory, marking the fourth chapter in the acclaimed film series. Directed byNia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland, the film was shot back to back with its predecessor and continues the haunting aftermath of a Britain shattered by infection. Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman and Chi Lewis Parry lead the cast.
Taking place after the events of the previous film, Spike is inducted into Sir Jimmy Crystal’s gang of acrobatic killers in a post-apocalyptic Britain ravaged by the Rage Virus. Meanwhile, Dr. Ian Kelson forms a new relationship with potentially world changing consequences.
DaCosta brings a distinct vision, choosing not to mirror Danny Boyle’s style but instead deliver a personal and atmospheric take on the franchise, with more infected and bolder horror elements woven throughout. With a trilogy planned and Garland attached to write all three films, The Bone Temple stands as the crucial middle chapter that will determine the series future.
