HBO has unveiled the official teaser for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a brand-new original drama set within the Game of Thrones universe, during a special panel at New York Comic Con. The six-episode season will debut Monday, 19 January, exclusively on HBO Max, with new episodes premiering weekly.
Set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, this half-hour series follows two unlikely heroes as they journey across Westeros. The story centres on Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall, a young and courageous but naïve knight, and his squire, Egg, whose true identity will be familiar to devoted fans of George R. R. Martin’s world. In an era when the Targaryens still reign and the memory of dragons lingers, Dunk and Egg’s adventures promise humour, heart, and the high-stakes drama that made Westeros legendary.
The series stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, alongside Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel, Danny Webb, Sam Spruell, Shaun Thomas, Finn Bennett, Edward Ashley, Tanzyn Crawford, Henry Ashton, Youssef Kerkour, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, and Daniel Monks.
From Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin and showrunner Ira Parker, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is executive produced by Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis, with Harris and Sarah Adina Smith directing.
Prepare to return to Westeros and witness the rise of legends — A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms debuts Monday, 19 January, only on HBO Max.
