The Sheep Detectives is shaping up to be one of the most unexpected and charming releases of the year. Directed by Kyle Balda (Minions) and written by Craig Mazin, the film adapts Leonie Swann’s beloved novel Three Bags Full into a cinematic whodunit with a uniquely woolly twist.
Featuring a stacked ensemble cast including Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nicholas Galitzine and Hong Chau, alongside an impressive voice lineup led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Bryan Cranston, the film promises both star power and personality.
Plot: Every night, a shepherd reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand. When he is found dead, the sheep realise at once that it was a murder and believe they know everything about how to go about solving it.
Filmed across picturesque locations in England and brought to life with visual effects from Framestore, the film is further elevated by a score from Christophe Beck.
The Sheep Detectives arrives in Australian cinemas on May 7, offering a fresh and entertaining mystery for audiences of all ages.
