Everyone’s favourite reformed felons return in The Bad Guys 2, roaring into Australian cinemas September 18. This new action-packed chapter from DreamWorks Animation sees the once-notorious animal outlaws struggling to go straight, until they are swept into a globe-trotting heist run by a cunning new crew: The Bad Girls.
Based on the New York Times best-selling book series by Aaron Blabey, which has skyrocketed from 8 million to over 32 million copies sold since the first film’s 2022 debut, the sequel reunites the stellar original voice cast. Sam Rockwell returns as smooth-talking Mr. Wolf, joined by Marc Maron as safe-cracking Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as master-of-disguise Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as hot-headed Mr. Piranha, and Awkwafina as tech genius Ms. Tarantula.
Joining the chaos are Danielle Brooks as Bad Girls leader Kitty Kat, a dangerously sharp snow leopard, Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a wild boar engineering mastermind, and Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a wry raven with a gift for deception.
Directed by Pierre Perifel with co-director JP Sans, The Bad Guys 2 expands the franchise’s world and raises the stakes. The returning ensemble also includes Zazie Beetz as Governor Diane Foxington, Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, Alex Borstein as Commissioner Misty Luggins and Lilly Singh as reporter Tiffany Fluffit, along with newcomers Omid Djalili, Colin Jost and Jaime Camil.
This sequel finds the crew navigating the absurd challenges of honest living from awkward job interviews to nine-to-five drudgery, only to be pulled back into high-octane mischief. Highly recommended by Movieland, The Bad Guys 2 delivers fun for all ages.
In Australian cinemas September 18 – Distributed by Universal Pictures Australia.
