The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – April 1

**Following the global phenomenon that brought The Super Mario Bros. to the big screen in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion, Illumination and Nintendo reunite for an all new, action packed chapter: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

After settling into their new life in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) are drawn back into action when a mysterious call for help points toward the unexplored past of Princess Peach (Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor Joy).

The mission pulls Mario and Luigi, along with their growing family of friends, off familiar ground, launching a sweeping intergalactic journey across new worlds and forming unexpected alliances.

The film reunites the all star original cast, including Jack Black (Jumanji films) as Bowser, Keegan Michael Key (The Lion King) as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson (American Dad!) as Kamek. They are joined by an exciting lineup of new voices, including Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer) as Bowser Jr., Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, Luis Guzmán as Wart, and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Rosalina.

For returning directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, Galaxy presented a bold creative leap.

“Super Mario Galaxy, to us, was an opportunity to expand the world in every direction,” Horvath explains. “The first film leaned into the retro spirit of Super Mario Bros., and we thought we had used our best ideas. But then we realised there was an entire universe still waiting to be explored.”

“Bringing Galaxy to the big screen gave us more visual scale, more imagination, and more freedom than ever before.”

Arriving in the wake of the franchise’s 40th anniversary in 2025, the film lands at a moment when Mario remains as culturally powerful as ever.

“There are so many surprises,” Horvath adds. “Mashups from across the games, characters you would never expect to see, and moments that fans are going to love.”

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is more than just a sequel. It is a bold expansion of a universe that continues to evolve, bringing generations of fans together through adventure and imagination, celebrating one of the most iconic gaming worlds ever created.
