Acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino returns with After the Hunt, a provocative psychological thriller set against the charged backdrop of an elite American university. Starring Academy Award winner Julia Roberts, alongside Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri, Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny, the film promises to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
Roberts takes on the role of Alma Imhoff, a brilliant and ambitious philosophy professor on the brink of securing tenure. Her career and reputation are thrown into turmoil when her star student Maggie (Edebiri) makes a shocking accusation against Alma’s colleague and close friend Hank Gibson (Garfield). As secrets unravel, Alma is forced to confront her own hidden past.
After the Hunt is not a story of simple truths. Guadagnino explores how power, privilege and perception intertwine, creating a world where every character is flawed yet deeply human. His signature style brings shadowy uncertainty to each frame, leaving audiences questioning not only what really happened, but also how we define truth itself.
After the Hunt brings together an incredible cast led by Julia Roberts, known for classics like Pretty Woman, Erin Brockovich and more recently Leave the World Behind. She is joined by Andrew Garfield, the two-time Oscar nominee loved for The Social Network, Tick Tick… Boom! and Hacksaw Ridge. Rising star Ayo Edebiri, fresh off her Emmy-winning role in The Bear, continues her meteoric rise, alongside acclaimed talents Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me By Your Name) and Chloë Sevigny (American Psycho).
With this powerhouse ensemble, After the Hunt is a must-see experience on the big screen, in cinemas October 16.
