Evil calls again in The Black Phone 2, the chilling follow-up to the 2022 horror hit that terrified audiences worldwide. Directed by Scott Derrickson, who returns alongside co-writer C. Robert Cargill, the sequel continues the story of trauma, vengeance and the supernatural, based on the characters created by Joe Hill.
Set four years after the first film, the story follows Finn (played by Mason Thames), now seventeen and still haunted by his escape from the Grabber. His younger sister Gwen (portrayed by Madeleine McGraw) begins to experience disturbing dreams in which she receives eerie calls through the black phone, warning of three boys being stalked at a mysterious winter camp known as Alpine Lake. When Gwen convinces Finn to investigate, they uncover terrifying truths linking the Grabber’s dark legacy to their own family history.
Ethan Hawke returns in his most sinister role as the Grabber, whose evil presence reaches beyond death to torment the siblings once more.
Produced by Jason Blum, Scott Derrickson, and C. Robert Cargill, and executive produced by Joe Hill, The Black Phone 2 promises a gripping blend of psychological dread and supernatural suspense. Derrickson, known for his work on Sinister, Deliver Us from Evil, and Doctor Strange, once again teams with Blumhouse to deliver a chilling cinematic experience that proves some calls should never be answered.
The Black Phone 2 opens in Australian cinemas October 16.
