The power of Grayskull is set to explode onto the big screen once again with Masters of the Universe, a massive live action reimagining of the legendary franchise that first captured imaginations in the 1980s. Plot
After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan / Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man… the most powerful man in the universe.
The film embraces the colourful spirit of the original toys and cartoons while modernising the mythology for cinema audiences. Director Travis Knight, a lifelong fan of the franchise, has described the project as a dream come true, promising a story filled with sincerity, adventure and spectacle.
Fans can also expect incredible world building, with massive practical sets, detailed costumes and epic action inspired by classic fantasy adventures. The production has recreated Eternia with enormous soundstage builds, towering castles, futuristic technology and battle ready armour designed to honour the original toy line while giving everything a fresh cinematic feel.
Adding even more excitement, legendary Queen guitarist Brian May has contributed music to the film’s score alongside acclaimed composer Daniel Pemberton, helping create a soundtrack packed with “the power!”
