The legend of Aatami Korpi returns in Sisu: Road to Revenge, an explosive sequel to the 2023 international hit Sisu. Writer-director Jalmari Helander reunites with Finnish star Jorma Tommila for another visually stunning and ferociously inventive action spectacle.
Set in post-World War II Finland, the film finds Aatami, once known as “the man who refuses to die” returning to the ruins of his home, dismantling it piece by piece to rebuild elsewhere in memory of his murdered family. But peace proves impossible when Red Army commander Yeagor Dragunov (Stephen Lang, Avatar, Don’t Breathe) resurfaces, reigniting their brutal wartime feud. What follows is a relentless chase across desolate terrain as two battle-hardened soldiers face off in a symphony of fire, blood, and sheer willpower.
Packed with explosive action and grim determination, Road to Revenge blends emotional storytelling with
jaw-dropping practical stunts, featuring everything from tanks and aerial assaults to hand-to-hand combat and even a missile showdown. Returning behind the camera is cinematographer Mika Orasmaa, crafting breathtaking visuals inspired by classic 1980s action cinema.
Produced by Petri Jokiranta and Mike Goodridge, Sisu: Road to Revenge is more than a sequel, it’s a tribute to resilience, loss, and the power of never giving up. Helander promises “epic, emotional, fun and crazy in all the good ways,” making this a must-see big-screen event.
In Cinemas Nov 20.
